  2. Add collapsible sections/regions to forms. Something similar to the existing form header/footers layouts.

The ability to hide/unhide areas of the form would really help cleanup the UI and help enhance the user experience.

  4. Increase font size of Property Sheet

The font size on the property sheet is really tiny. Like, 10pt or something ridiculous. Please make it bigger or allow us to change the font size. Banded rows could be nice too, but once the text is larger, it won't be as much of an issue.

  5. Autocomplete for calculated access form controls

When in form design mode. It's really time consuming write calculated fields. It would be great to have autocomplete formula like for built in access functions and database objects directly inside edited control.

Allow access developers to create or edit a ribbon with a gui rather than having to write xml.

  7. Select Navigation control Tab programmatically

    Hi Team,

Currently we use this command to switch to a tab in a
    NavigationControl

    DoCmd.BrowseTo acBrowseToForm, TabToOpen, Me.name & ".NavigationSubform"

This works fine if there is a unique NavigationTargetName for the selected Tab/Button. If we have two or more Tabs with the same target form name, we are unable to open a specific Tab. The first tab with the matching targetName is opened.

I.e. TabA and TabC has the same targetFormName X
if we use the following command

    DoCmd.BrowseTo acBrowseToForm, X, Me.name & ".NavigationSubform"

    TabA is activated.

Problem: How do we activate TabC?

Regarding why we have same targetFormName:…

  8. Add sorting and grouping to multiple-item forms

Add sorting and grouping to multiple-item forms, working in the same way as found in reports. You'll probably need to prevent the addition of editable/save-able fields in the group headers and footers though (maybe force them to Enable=false and/or Locked=true).

  9. ITEMS in Detail Section with Crosstab Queries and specified fixed headings should have option to suppress repeating

Whenever an ITEM such as a heading progress bar is in the Detail section, so if you display the form as Continuous Forms, you will see a progress bar in each displayed record. It will happen whenever a Continuous Form displays more than one record.

The only way to avoid this is to move the progress bar to the form header (or footer) section.

Please refer to the attached design, on the very last page described in microsoft forums.

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msofficeaccess-msowindows8-mso_2010/crosstab-query-to-display-all-records-according-to/b98b9372-1a83-402d-b54d-87ca5b7a7407?messageId=c8966d76-2bcd-4a49-a1cc-83cdcf71a483

Either an access development enhancement to enable this would provide more flexibility to create complicated reports.

    Thank you…

  10. Picture viewer like web site

For a recording, viewer externals pictures (folders & names in a table) with 3-5 thumbnails if several images for the recording.
Zoom with a clic on a thumbnail.
Functionnality to add new images or delete imge for the table.

    Native functionality.
    It 's possible with a VBA code but if it's a build-in...

    Thanks

  11. conditional formating rules on controls

Add the ability to set border color and thickness and line type. Also allow conditional formatting for checkboxes - Would be nice to not have to do this all in code.

  12. Improve the Basic Graphics Model

Add levels of transparency, blur, shadows, and drop shadows. We can fake some of these today, but it takes a lot of resources and time. These are all things needed to make apps look modern in Windows 10.

  13. User Defined Enumerates in Expression Box

I create user-defined enumerates in VBA quite often, it would be helpful to use those in the expression box i.e. when calling a user defined VBA function and supplying a parameter, so I could start typing the Enum name and IntelliSense would finish the name and when typing a . (dot) provide a list of values for that Enum.

  14. design wizzard to transform old apps in modern design

there are so many good working Access applications but too many look Grey-old like norhwind.
Please make a simple Transformation wizzard for forms to Change the design of all existing forms in one Application. Change Color, font, increase space between controls, bring alle Buttons to a modern design and Standard Actions on buttons with a modern Icon, endless forms with alterning Colors ….
this could increase the value of many Access applications and the Image of access!

  15. Can we have onClick() events on the bars/columns/slices in the new charts

Love the new charts but can we have onClick() events on the bars/columns/slices so that create drill downs using VBA
Always made me sad that MSGraph had events in Excel but not Access.

  17. Please create global methods to deactivate the CTRL+MINUS (delete the current record) and the CTRL+PLUS (add record) shortcut:

Please create global methods to deactivate the CTRL+MINUS (delete the current record) and the CTRL+PLUS (add record) shortcut:
    • Bug report: In some forms AllowDeletions is mysteriously set to true, even if the form has AllowDeletions = False set (this is only displayed correctly in debug mode). CTRL-Minus then deletes a record without question. Calling Me.AllowDeletions = False in the Form_Open event helps. Access option "Confirm Record Changes" was not set.
    • In the AutoKeys macro sub-macros for ^{-} and ^{+} are not allowed (but {DEL}, ^{DEL}, ^{X} are possible).
    • The Access option "Confirm Record Changes" is helpful, but…

  19. Formula field type

I'd like to be able to define an input field as a calculated field based on a simple formula (arithmetic operations + parenthesis would be enough).

  20. Allow custom controls and a gallery

Due to wide variance among different industries, I think Access is best benefited if users are enabled to author and share custom data-bindable controls. That would enable industries to build controls customized to their particular need, and hopefully share with one other, making it easier to develop with Access even for those who don't have the programming expertise to author it themselves. Look at PowerBI gallery as an example of how this can be a success story for Access.
