  2. Modify form and report designer to allow use to add (sub) sections (detail/group/header/footers)

I would find the ability to add additional sections would give greater design capability. Similar functionality to that provided in Crystal Reports.

  4. Listbox update

Have a fully programmable listbox with events like comctl listbox and treeview we had. Sizable columns, header click, sorting, image support.

  5. Make Access fully MDI

Although the UI of MS Access has been modernised with Office Fluent Ribbon, Access is not fully MDI - all the displayed objects - forms, tables etc.. still display within the current window. How about keeping up with Word and Excel programs, have the option for each object to display in a separate Window?

  6. Redraw errors with lables while browsing through records in forms

Since Access 2007 there is an annoying effect regarding label texts while you are browsing through records in data driven forms. Every time you do so, some of the labels (seemingly not all of them) are redrawn with a minimal offset to their original position without removing the old pixels. This results in making the label texts bolder and bolder - very annoying!

There is a similar effect with command buttons using advanced formats (styles).

  7. Allow developer to put animations like gif images or flash

Review the shockwave flash object and put a animated gif component.
    An example for usage:
    a) We can use little flash animations in splash screens
    b) Animated gifs could be an option instead of progressbars (like the "loading" icons we see on web pages)

We do have a shockwave flash component - but at least here I can't make it work in Access 2013). The gif idea came from a customer.

  8. Create a customizable validator for textbox

Access has a field validator in table designer.

But in forms would be good to have, for example, predefined (and customizable) validators, like e-mail, directly on textboxes. And, instead of a message box, we can paint the control and show a tooltip with error.

For reference, take a look at section "validator" in Bootstrap or Material design.

    Thanks!

  9. Include "hide control" feature Continuous Forms

Currently on Continuous Forms, the developer can enable/disable, along with a few other functionality items relating to conditional formatting. At the moment, there is no "hide/unhide" feature to allow developers to display or not display controls based upon values of a particular row of data. There are ways to do it, but only in a very convoluted way, and very confusing when having to manage the code. Please include this functionality for continuous forms!

  10. Can we have a Separate Time Picker Control

Often Date and Time are stored separately. To ensure the correct time is entered one has to write a fair bit of code to determine 24 hour time or AM/PM are entered correctly. A Time picker would have two Combo boxes, one for hours and one for minutes -and even show the time on a dial.

  11. Deal with sleep mode properly for tablet environments

When a tablet or PC goes into sleep mode any active form looses its connection to the database backend (I am using SQL Server). This is very annoying in tablet environments where the PC is frequently switched to sleep mode. Make it so that Access can detect a reawaken from sleep and refresh the connection automatically rather than leave an error so that the user doesn't have to log off and reload the screen.

  12. Fix how the tabbed interface behaves when switching to design view

When using the tabbed interface, if you switch a form out of Form view to Design view, the interface changes to the next tab in the sequence. You have to manually re-select the tab you were working on each time, which is really annoying. This bug affects all versions that support the tabbed interface, from what I have observed.

With the latest version of Access, we are not able to reproduce the issue you are describing.
If you still experience problems with the tabbed interface please provide information about the version you are using, and steps to reproduce.

    Thanks,

  14. Remove the orange selection border in design view.

I guess this border is introduced in order to see more clearly which control is selected. However this selection border now hides the border of the selected controls and for this reason you need to deselect the control to see how they are aligned with other controls or to view how the placement shows is within the design.

And if the control is not place how you want, you need to select it again, move it a little with the arrow keys, deselect it to view the result, etc.
In earlier version of Access, without this orange border, this works…

  16. Sort by object name in the Expression builder - Expression categories

When we use the expression builder, the middle column (expression categories) currently does not sort alphabetically so it makes it time consuming to search for controls.

  17. Macroes vs VBA in Button Wizard

When using the Button wizard MS Access creates macroes as default. This should be an option if you prefeer macroes or vb as the event code.

  18. Combox - separate what is shown when "open" to what is shown when "closed"

If you select values via combobox (you open it to show a list of values) then i often want to restrict what is shown there, but if combobox is "closed" (just the result is shown) then i do not want to apply any restriction there. (When closed Show "Select Names form tblAdress" but for show selection: SELECT Names from tblAdress WHERE dept = 1; ) ...

  19. Highlightable property for all controls including rows on continuous forms

Windows 10 in particular like to highlight controls as you pass over them. This capability should be available for any control and would also be very useful on a continuous form to highlight a particular row as you mouse over.

  20. Outlook style navigation control for users when running an application

Have the navigation pane have two modes. The default design pane or an Outlook style navigation control that can be used by the application. It would have properties that would run various objects like forms, reports, queries or code but no design capabilities. Even allow for multiple navigation control object for multi user roles but the application would only be set to one navigation control in the navigation pane. People are used to the Outlook paradigm.
