  1. I am trying to import data from .csv and missing the ability to import a field formatted as a simple date.

I was looking for Microsoft Access assistance for an issue I'm having with importing date data from a .csv file. I'd like to import as Date, Short Date. The only option I'm seeing is Date with Time, which does not work when importing my date data. Using the date with time option actually deletes all of the dates that I'm trying to import. If I select text, I need to go in and change all date fields after each import to be date, short date formatted. Help please! Am I missing something? Can this be fixed, or will I need…

  2. Fix inlined member calls, on user objects on 64-bit VBA

In 64-bit VBA hosts, inlined member calls on user objects don't work like on 32-bit VBA hosts.

Given a UserClass with a getter/setter and a Class_Terminate handler (even it is empty).
And in a TestModule a factory procedure returning an instance of this class and also setting the setter.

When I now use this procedure and inline check the value of the getter like in the following sample, it results in a different behaviour compared to 32-bit VBA:

    If CreateUserClass(True).TheValue Then

Please take a look in the attached text file for a complete sample:

    UserClass.cls:

    Private mValue As Boolean

    Private…

  4. Bug Report -- Multiple Access Crashes

Since 8/1/2018, MS Access has been crashing repeatedly on multiple machines in our office. We are on 64 bit Office 365 and Windows 10. It appears some bug must have been introduced during one of the automatic updates.

This crash appears to occur with automation where I think a second instance of MS Access is calling an MS access program, but not totally sure:

Faulting application name: MSACCESS.EXE, version: 16.0.10325.20118, time stamp: 0x5b64d927

  5. Allow office to be installed on secondary hard drive.

Old versions of office allowed users to install on any hard drive they wanted. The current office 2016 consumes up valuable hard drive space for the Operating System. Allow the user to decide where they want it installed. To make it easy have a express or custom option for installation. I have seen many companies use this option it allows easy installation for those who are less tech savvy and those who have experience to customize their installation. I use Visual Studio 2017 and it allows an installation option. THIS IS A MUST most people have small hard drives for…

  6. Todo section of calendar - client should be on left and subject on right

On the Todo's section of the calendar, the Subject should be on the right side and the Client should be on the left side. You have it reverse. Interestingly odd that when the report prints it is client on left and subject on right. Can't you make the todo section of the calendar the same.

  8. In Access documentation, include the Access version(s) in which the feature is available

In the Access documentation, please include the version in which each feature was introduced. That will make it possible to design in one version of Access and know that the database will run on an earlier version. Right now, the only way I know to do this is to test the database on an earlier version and find the components which aren't available by trial-and-error.

(Note: that I've posted a similar suggestion in officespdev.uservoice.com for the Access VBA reference.)

  12. "Open Databases using Record-Level Locking" does not work reliably

Often no lines are locked at all, sometimes multiple lines which are not being edited are locked. In addition data only automatically refreshes occasionally and does not properly sync when there are different edits on different instances.
This was tested both opening the same file twice on one computer and opening the same file on a shared drive with different computers.

  15. Find a way to prevent "phantom breakpoints" in the VBA IDE, this has been an issue for 20 years

We all know about these; an end user runs your Access application, and it freezes up and suddenly displays the VBA code window to the user with a line highlighted in yellow. The user is confused and concerned, and thinks it's a bug in the program. A quick random edit and recompile usually fixes this, but how about fixing the problem that these breakpoints really do get cleared when you click to Clear All Breakpoints? In some business environments you can't only deploy MDE or ACCDE files.

  16. To make it possible to make / maintain Table triggers via VBA

In stead / top of datamacros it would be very nice to have the ability to manage table triggers via VBA (like forms); easier to maintain, all the code in 1 place and more tools/functions etc available.

  18. make Access easier to use

I have an idea that will make (Access) better (easier to use).
it will take more than 25 words to explain my suggestion.

  19. Access Professional 365 and Access Desktop Two new versions

Draw a line under the product. Create 2 products:
Express/User version which ONLY has macros. (no VB projects)
The express version can be further tweaked to prevent creation of multi user projects

    Professional/Enterprise Developer version for Developers

with the some stripped out features put back

    The Pro version features:

1.The this version should also allow simple targeting of Mobile devices.
    2.Source control
3.AZURE SQL and SQL Server projects

This will Sell MORE cloud services

4.Improve the crappy forms projects so they are as good as VS.NET (Express....)

5.Improve reports and integrate with SQL Server reporting.
    Create PDF reporting

    6.Scrap the…

  20. Fix a bug in the Application.PlainText() method

I found a bug in the Application.PlainText() method. This method "Strips the rich text formatting from a string and returns an unformatted text string."

I don't know where else to report a bug like this. I reported the CTRL+A SQL editor bug to UserVoice and it was fixed.

I am writing a SQL formatter that will adjust the layout and colorize a SQL statement in a Rich Text box. I expect PlainText() to remove Rich Text formatting without corrupting the SQL statement.

You can reproduce this bug in the Immediate Window.

    ? PlainText("SELECT Record_ID,<BR>'Hello ' & Name")

    correctly returns:

    SELECT…
