  1. Enable us to lock the tab we're working on within a Tab Control

Working on controls within a Tab Control can be very frustrating. You can't drag a box around controls, because you end up moving the Tab Control containing them and I'm forever accidentally selecting the Tab Control.

Can we have some way of locking us on to the selected tab, locking the Tab Control's position and allowing us to drag a box around controls on a Tab Control?

  3. Datasheet enhancements

Please increase the size of the footer of the data sheet to make it easier to see and use the record controls. The number of records box should be much bigger to see large record numbers. Also, the search box should be at the top of the datasheet to make it more intuitive to use and be inline with the emphasis Microsoft now gives search in all its applications. I would like to see wrappable columns heading. And the filter button, the add button and a delete and refresh button at the upper right hand part of the datasheet so…

  4. Include Find/Replace dialogue when using Shift F2 to edit code

I use code for the recordset property of a form and if I need to make changes I cut and paste to notepad but now we have "find & replace" in the SQL Editor. Can this functionality be incuded if editing the recordsource property or perhaps open the sql editor to make this easier.

Thanks for the great work on the Editor it really helps!

  5. BUG - Relationship window: Cannot view all tables

    Office 365, 16.0.12730.20144 32-bit.

Select many tables at once in Relationship window - enough so that the list of tables spills over to a second set of columns. Scroll down to bottom of scroll bar, and cannot see the tables lower down. If I then resize the Access Window so it is shorter, I can scroll down and see more tables. And then if I make the Window taller again, I can see the bottom tables. But as soon as I touch the vertical scrollbar, focus shifts to the top again, and the bottom tables are again not showing.

    Note…

Thank you for reporting this issue – the Access team is investigating this and will inform you about next steps. For now, please proceed with the workaround that you have included in your description.

  6. Use F5 to run a query

When switching between SQL Management Studio and an Access front end I find myself pressing F5 to run the Access query as I've been working in the other window - would be good if F5 ran the query in Access as it does in SQLMS

  7. Hello! I would like to see boundries with dashed lines as an option.

My congregation is use to seeing dashed line boundaries to mean just doing one side of a street. With that feature, you can pick one part of the boundary or the entire outer boundary to have a dashed line. Would be a nice feature to have.

  9. Allow hyperlinks in MS Access to open a shared file on SharePoint

Currently, hyperlinks in MS Access to a shared file on SharePoint does not open. One gets the error = "Unable to open <link>. Cannot download the information you requested". If it is a hyperlink to a normal website (e.g. www....) it does work. This error applies to both data in hyperlink-formatted fields as well as hyperlinks embedded in form controls. Access simply cannot access data in SharePoint via URL. This is a major deficiency in the program and should be solved.

  13. Lost or forgotten SQL database password

Have you lost or forgotten the SQL server database password? Don't worry, you can easily recover the SQL database password with a few simple and easy steps.

SQL Server is one of the widely used and the most reliable and comprehensive database management application. It can perform various tasks rigorously and thus offers high-end scalability for your database. But the problem arises when a user forgets or lost the password. When a user forgets the password he/she would not be able to login to the SQL database account.

So, if you forget your SQL database password then don't worry use…

  14. Backstage Fix version 2005

The BackStage of the latest release of Access as of 19/June/2020 appears to override the custom Backstage built via the usysribbons table. The File, New, Open, Account Tabs among others are visible even if the custom usys ribbon explicitly says not to include them. This then places our custom backstage into a nested Tab instead of being the default full screen Backstage as intended.

  15. Cambiar la altura de la fila de encabezado en un hoja de datos

La idea es poder manipular la altura de la fila de encabezado de una hoja de datos para poder darle un alto suficiente capaz de mostrar todo el título de la columna, pero sin cambiar su anchura.

  16. Display MsgBox upon closing Access asking if user wants to repair the database before closing it.

Access decides indiscriminately, while I am working on a VBA module in my db, to repair it and make a backup copy. This wipes out all breakpoints and bookmarks. VERY FRUSTRATING!!! This should NEVER happen while I am working on a db. At the very least, display a message asking me if I want to repair the db now and include a check box for repairing the db ONLY ON CLOSING!!! I have found no property setting that affects this. I would appreciate a response in order to fix the problem. I tend to think of this as a privacy…

  17. Bug fix requested: ControlTip text does not always show when On Mouse Move event used

In Access 2016 the ControlTip Text may not show on a control that uses the On Mouse Move event. To see the desired ControlTip it is necessary to reveal the ControlTip of another control first, then bring the mouse back to the desired control that has the On Mouse Move event.

A better description of the issue, with screenshots, may be found here: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msofficeaccess-msowinother-mso2013release/controltip-text-does-not-always-show-when-on-mouse/209f54d1-edfd-4252-9f20-f24029c12d8a?messageId=c1448154-918b-420e-9e2c-5d887734a505

  19. MS Updates are killing us

In Dec... Your update wiped out our ability to query. We go through it. Last month SQL Server wouldn't query. We got through it. NOW On particular NEW MS OFFICE Installs my query is returning Gargage. I have the details with pictures. But I am recommending we shut off MS updates to both of my clients. If this "bug" is not fixed and it spreads to the whole company computers, we stop working.

No place for me to attach the graphic details of the NEW BUG.

  20. add semantics to Hyperlink data type to allow escaped pound sign (#)

The Hyperlink column data type uses embedded pound signs (#) to separate portions of the definition of a hyperlink. That's just great until the (all too common) moment when some portion of the hyperlink definition includes a pound sign. Access Hyperlink datatype should allow some escape character preceding a # to cause the # to be treated as any other character rather than as separating a part of the hyperlink definition.
