  1. Allow hyperlinks in MS Access to open a shared file on SharePoint

    Currently, hyperlinks in MS Access to a shared file on SharePoint does not open. One gets the error = "Unable to open <link>. Cannot download the information you requested". If it is a hyperlink to a normal website (e.g. www....) it does work. This error applies to both data in hyperlink-formatted fields as well as hyperlinks embedded in form controls. Access simply cannot access data in SharePoint via URL. This is a major deficiency in the program and should be solved.

  2. Drop-Down - Combo-Box with requery/filter behaviour as you type

    Currently the combobox can only be searched with the starting characters.
    Is it possible to extend it with an internet like behaviour:
    a combination of a textbox + combobox in 1 control which gives us the possibility to filter the recordset while typing.

  3. Printing Vertical

    Maps can't be rotated when creating images to print. True.

    But if there are "4x6" and "8.5x11" sheet sizes, is it not possible to also create "6x4" and "11x8.5" sheet sizes so that there is at least one other orientation option. (Some text might be oriented wrong, but for some territory shapes it would be worth the slight inconvenience)

  4. BugFix: Combo Datatype bug

    Please fix the combo box RowSource datatype binding bug.

    The bug is as follows:
    1. Create a table [Table1] with two columns:
    - [NumberField], datatype: Number, Double
    - [TextField], datatype: Short Text

    Add 1 Row to the table:
    [NumberField] = 10
    [TextField] = "Some Text 10"

    1. Create a combo box:

    2. Set the RowSource of the combo box to this:
      SELECT NumberField, TextField FROM Table1;

    3. Add a Button to the form: [cmbErrorExample]
      Add On Click Event:
      If Me.cmbErrorExample.RowSource = "SELECT NumberField, TextField FROM Table1;" Then
      Me.cmbErrorExample.RowSource = "SELECT TextField, NumberField FROM Table1;"
      Me.cmbErrorExample.DefaultValue = "Some Text 10"
      Me.cmbErrorExample.Value = "Some Text…

  6. Support for geospatial data

    One of the massive gaps in Access is support for geospatial data. I would like to be able to use Access to store, manipulate and view geographic data, using a geography and/or geometry data type.

    When you set a Tab control not to use theme, the tabs title labels use to get corrupted, getting garbage and text artifacts around. Sometimes it is even impossible to read. And amazingly it happen also in the tabs of the access properties sheet of form and controls

  9. Horizontal Data in For

    We need the ability or a control to represent our data horizontally instead of vertically. Such as the websites they are representing their products horizontally and the customer can scroll. it would be a great thing if we have this ability in ms access.

  10. Add the LOGEST function (which is in Excel) to Access

    Excel has the function LOGEST that is used in regression analysis. The LOGEST function calculates an exponential curve that fits your data and returns an array of values that describes the curve.

    We use this function in our Excel models. I am attempting to rewrite some of these in Access but the LOGEST is not available in Access. It seems that all the functions available in Excel should also be available in Access.

  12. Modern Carting is far from modern

    Why is it not possible to have charting similar to what is in Excel?

    For those that want to dynamically display their data in an easily comprehended form Charts are the way to go, but Modern Charts in Access are so limited as to be almost useless. Linking to charts in Excel is complex and does not work well. If you are distributing your DB you must then distribute a copy of the Excel workbook.

  13. PLEASE release the fix for "Bug fix needed for MS Access Update queries with WHERE clause" because we can't update hundreds of queries!!!!

    Release the fix referenced in this link below ASAP. We have numerous MS Access apps that are not functioning and can't be expected to update hundreds of queries...(multiple apps, multiple customers...).
    https://support.office.com/en-us/article/access-error-query-is-corrupt-fad205a5-9fd4-49f1-be83-f21636caedec

    Thanks so much!

    See support.office.com/en-us/article/access-err..

    For updates, this is fixed for almost all channels now (a fix has been available for most users since 11/18).

  14. Develop a mobile version of Access so it can be installed on a lightweight android device.

    Develop a version of access that can be run on a lightweight android device or an application that can be run from the cloud.

  17. Implement large number support in OLEDB

    When Large Number support is enabled in an access database, it becomes unavailable to OLEDB with the error "The database you are trying to open requires a newer version of Microsoft Access".

  18. Conditional Formatting - nulls and automatic backcolor

    Two things for Conditional Formatting: (1) Add options for Field Value is null/not null. Doesn't work if I say Field Value Is equal to Null, instead I switch to Expression and type it out. (2) Background color needs a "transparent" or "no color" option. Example- I have a report with alternate row colors and want to highlight a field with solid yellow for certain conditions and make it clear for others... using the "Automatic" background color makes the field solid white instead of whatever the alternate row color is.

  19. Where are you

    It has become obvious in reviewing this hub that Microsoft has no interest in feedback. Unless I am missing something, out of all the feedbacks provided, Microsoft has only tagged 3 for future consideration, and they are all dated years ago, and has followed thru on none.

    What is the point to this feedback channel?

  20. Flexibility on Resizing/Formatting Data Tables Independently for Charts

    Need to allow to resize and format Data Tables independently from the Chart Object to be able to keep large series charts (15+) from stretching too long vertically just to show all the data table results.
