  2. looping error when bad data type entered

when I accidentally leave a data type blank while working on a table structure, I will of course, receive an error message stating that the field cannot be left blank.

The problem occurs when I click the OK button. Instead of exiting, the error message loops back. Clicking the red X of the dialog or of Access is prohibited. I must go to the Task Manager, and terminate Access. This causes me to lose all my work.

  9. Provide some SDLC Support with more developer-centric features, like SQL and/or VBA Script generation

Given the typical Dev/Test/Prod development staging methodologies, and the great ease by which changes to database objects (especially "supporting"-type changes like adding indexes to existing tables) can occur in a software development cycle, it would be very beneficial to allow the built-in Access Table, Query, Form, and Report designers to save the "state" of the overall object, and at "Save"-time offer an option to Generate VBA and/or SQL scripts that can help to facilitate the (re-)deployment of the new changes to partnering databases (migrate the changes from Test back to Dev or Prod copies of a database, for example).
    Being…

  10. Display the control reference

From the many times problems with determining how a control should be referenced appear on a google search, I think it would be useful if a right click of a control object provided how it should be refenced by a query, form or report external to the object in which it resides.

  13. make Access more stable instead of implementing new features

make new Versions of Access as stable as Access 2010.
On the same server with hundreds of users i observed sigificant more crashs in newer versions of access for weeks.
The reliability of access is much more important than new features

  14. Bug - Tab Control Use Theme CPU/power drain in Design View

When in Design View on a form with a tab control, if I change the tab control's 'Use Theme' flag to Yes, then that Access process increases CPU usage by 30% and power usage (as shown in Task Mgr) for the process goes from "Very low" to "Very high" - and it stays there. If I save the form and then design it again, the CPU/Power stays normal. But if I change the Use Theme back to No and then to Yes, the CPU/Power goes up again (while in Design View). And, if I try to close the form after…

  15. Query Editor - Make it smarter for INSERT INTO queries

Currently, if an existing INSERT INTO query has a problem with an underlying query (if there is an error due to a renamed supporting query or table name, for example), the Query Editor inserts new "phantom alias names" into the QueryDef for each column.
So, the resulting SQL looks sort of like this:
INSERT INTO MyTable (ColA, ColB, ColC...)
SELECT MyDerivedColA as Expr1, MyColB as Expr2, MyDerivedColC as Expr3…
FROM (from clause with some underlying table/query naming error here)...

My request is that since the Query editor is "smart enough" to introduce those "Expr#" Alias labels when needed due to…

  18. Fix the issue of Access returning an incorrect record ID when a bound form is connected to a SQL Server table that has an insert trigger

Access returns an incorrect record ID when a form is bound to an SQL Server table that has an 'insert trigger' that inserts a record into 'another' table. The record ID returned is actually the record ID of the trigger inserted record into the 'other' table. This is because Access calls SQL Server for @@IDENTITY rather than SCOPE_IDENTITY() when inserting a new record. This particularly affects SQL Server tables that are 'replicated' as these tables have an MS shipped 'insert trigger' on the table for use in replication. We have an MS Support Case # 23043471 where we have had…

  19. Access fouoMac
