  1. Votes were not returned to me

Votes were not returned to me after MS closed "Provide a native Treeview control". I had two votes for that. Since there is no feedback mechanism to tell Microsoft "your feeback site is not working, I then had to remove my vote from "Import/export specs edit feature" in order to open this "suggestion". The suggestion... Microsoft - fix your feedback mechanism.

  3. Consider downgrading VBA references to ALL Office product libraries

    re: https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/vsod/2017/01/23/office-vba-reference-downgrade-problem/

This includes a comment "This is by design. VBA references are upgraded but are not downgraded." which I have also heard from other Microsoft support staff

I differ in opinion about “by design”.

I feel that since these are references to libraries supplied by Office, and since the newer office application VBA environment “knows” enough to locate and upgrade ALL the office library references, and since the older office application VBA environment “knows” enough to locate and downgrade the library for ONE office library reference, it seems like it is somewhat negligent that the older office application VBA…

Thanks everyone for voting and supporting this suggestion.
As you are all aware, Pivot Charts and Pivot Tables have been removed from Access 2013 because the technology they relied on was deprecated (Office Web Components).

Since Pivot Charts as we all know them, will not come back to Access, we are updating the status accordingly and would like to encourage you to continue and use your free votes to support other suggestions.

The ask for similar functionality is well known and documented.

    Thanks,

  5. VBA/Geolocation/Camera on Windows Mobile Devices

So, if you're bringing win32 programs to ARM devices (tablets, phones etc) and you're already producing mobile form factor windows that can run Access natively, I'd like to be able to work with the device's Geolocation data, and also Photos, in my Access 'desktop' databases. And I'd like to use VBA to do so. :)

We realize that Pivot Tables and Charts have been a great feature and many Access users found them to be highly useful.
As you may already know, they have been removed as the technology they relied on, was no longer supported (Office Web Components).

At this point we have no plan to bring Pivot Tables and Charts back. However we are looking into ways to improve and modernize data visualization in Access.

    Stay tuned.

  9. ... to deliver an option to convert old access versions to the newer ones

if having old access versions it would be good to have a converter "on board"

  12. Make an Access Lite version free

One of the main reasons Access doesn't have the traction of other stacks and development environments is because it's competitors in the various spaces are free. MySQL, MSSQL, PostgreSQL, .NET, PHP, Ruby... etc. Access continues to lose it's market share because it's entry level is too high. Making an Access Lite version which allows people to make basic forms, basic reports, basic tables, and basic code behind would improve Access's standing to perhaps a 2nd class citizen in the development ecosystem. Right now it's a 3rd class citizen that is made fun of by all the other "real developers" and…

    Thank you for your suggestion.
It is mostly relevant to Office/Microsoft business planning and I’ll forward the input to the right people.
I’m updating the status to No Current Plan as addressing this request is not really within the realms of the product team.

    Thanks,
    Michal [MSFT]

  13. Get a Functional Forum

Part of development is asking questions and for this Forum (and the help files) are critical! Sadly, the Microsoft Answers forum has been, and is currently plagued with problems.

Could you please sort out the Answers forum so we can actually use it.

  16. Fix Bug in Datasheet Quick (dropdown) filter

There is a bug if you want to filter for text that contains "+" or "&", see

    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/ec09e1b3-1c11-49e2-81a8-23f1f44128e3/access-datasheet-containstextfilter-bug-with-and-characters?forum=accessdev

There are other bugs: If you try to filter for

    Equals "in Progress"

or any text that starts with "in ", you get the message "Enter a valid value".

If you try to filter for something that starts with "not ", e.g.

    Equals "Not started",

you will get wrong results because the filter then reads like:

    (Not [tbl_Test].[FldTest]="start")

There are probably more. All of this comes from the fact that the input to the text filters is obviously not properly quoted when…

    Thanks for reporting.
We will add this bug report to our backlog and see that it is prioritized and handled.
In the meantime, I’m updating the status for ‘No Current Plan’ so that you use your votes again.

    Thanks,
    Michal [MSFT]

  17. Fix Bug with Min and DMin aggregate functions in presence of zero-length strings

If there are zero-length strings in a text field of a table, then Min and DMin may return wrong results. I have described this in detail here:

    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/dc948ff4-c5cc-4159-9f97-f04b72ac30c6/access-false-results-with-min-and-dmin-aggregate-functions-on-text-fields-in-the-presence-of-zero?forum=accessdev

Microsoft Support has confirmed that this is a bug.It is still present in Access 2016.

  18. Collapsible vba procedures

By default each procedure should only have the first procedure line (header) visible with an expand button to show all lines within the procedure. Currently a lot of time is spend scrolling through code.

I would also like to see the two drop downs for general and declarations changed to a tree view on the left so that I can more easily navigate procedures and methods.

    Thanks for your consideration!

  19. Access 2016

Access 2016 non è più presente il Wizard per la creazione di pacchetti da distribuire con le Runtime library, vi prego di rimetterlo al più presto perché era utilissimo.

    Thanks Roberto for posting.
The wizarding package has been removed in Access 2013.
As useful as it may have been to you and others, we know that most developers used third party custom installers (similar to Dolly’s suggestions below).

  20. add ability to sync and store dabase in onedrive

Can you update acess so that the entire dabase can be store in onedrive. This way when I use a difrent computer I can have acess to the dabase as well as invite others to have access to it at the same time.
