  2. Maintain focus on a form when debugging

When debugging, the form from which a process may have been launched loses focus. so to debug code behind, I need to close all other forms so I can see data changes on the form I'm debugging.

  3. Tie Tooltip Text to Table Fields

Putting tooltips on controls is great, but it would be nice if you could set the tooltip text for a field inside of the table so that every control placed for that field will be automatically tied to its label (or maybe allow a selection between tying it to the label or to the field itself.)

  4. Add Caption Column to Table Design View

A column to see the Caption of a table field would be most helpful as this is one of the common things needed to be seen or edited with table fields.

  6. Allow trusted Add-ins as User instead of Admin

In order to add a Add-in (.mda) file into MS Access, the user has to be in the local admins group. Even if you are a domain admin, not having local admin rights won't work because your user profile changes when you open MS Access as Admin with other credentials.

Full Detail: In order to Install an Add-in library in MS Access 2016 (and at least the two prior versions) you have to open MS Access 'Run as Administrator', then do the install, then close and reopen as the standard user. If you are not in the local administrators group…

  7. Encrypt Password for Linked Tables

If you establish a connection via a linked table (to MS SQL Server with sql-user), you can read the password from the memory in plain text.
This is a serious security problem.
Please enable the password to be transmitted in an encrypted format.

  9. Make Access Available on Macs

I love Office for Mac, but the glaring issue is the lack of Access. Mac users would really appreciate this getting added to the package. Especially since it is advertised as included with Microsoft 365 and no where on the site does it say it doesn't work with Macs.

  10. Intellisense sometimes crashes the first time you try to use it in VBA code

Every now and again, each of our developers experiences an issue where Access will crash the first time you try to use intellisense when writing VBA code.

To get back up and running, decompiling the database always fixes the issue, but surely the editor could deal with this by suggesting the user decompiles and recompiles the code, instead of dropping out and potentially losing a lot of unsaved changes.

Example from such a crash -

Faulting application name: MSACCESS.EXE, version: 16.0.13029.20534, time stamp: 0x5f53f9d7
Faulting module name: VBE7.DLL, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x5ea725ac
    Exception code: 0xc0000005
    Fault offset: 0x000256bc
    Faulting…

  11. Improve the Listbox Control

Because the Listbox control doesn't support text alignment or having a different font colour and formatting per cell, it's sometimes necessary to use a ListView, which has to be programmatically filled and formatted.

It would be a great time saver and enhancement to the ListBox if it could support left/center/right horizontal text alignment per column and the ability to apply formatting to specific "cells", perhaps using RTF code or conditional formatting.

  12. LoCode Office Automation Connector for Power Automation/Flow

Provide a Power Automation Connector that enables Desktop Excel/Access/Word to connect at its backside and makes data and VBA UserDefinedFunctions returning JSON strings (or anything else a Function returns) accessable to PowerApp-, HttpActionInitiator-Flows atl.

  15. Bug - Nav Pane Custom Groups contents changing unexpectedly

I use Custom Groups in the Navigation Pane of Access to keep track of objects I am changing for various tasks, so I know at a glance what objects to submit to our update process.

Sometimes, the items in a Group will change. I'm not talking about linked tables or queries not showing after a relink. I'll have put FormA in the group, and when I open the database, FormA is no longer in the group, but FormD is. Same for report objects, modules and queries.

Problem is, I have not found a pattern of when this happens. Sometimes it's…

  16. Bring back Pivot Table capabilities to Access

Microsoft needs to review "Voice of the Customer" portions of Six Sigma process Improvement (which you seem to have forgotten).

Why would you take away a major long term feature in Access and lamely refer it to Excel that can't handle large data sets as well?

    Please restore this feature.

  17. Ity would be great if there was a one-click button to update Access 2016 with/from Outlook 2016

I found that altho9u9gh I could import data from Outlook, with existing notes, That subsequent emails and notes were not registered within Access.
Also their should be a button so that when working with a contact in Access, we can click a button to write an email and it opens Outlook email
