  1. Make It Easier To Transfer Access Queries To SQL Server

It would be very helpful if it were easier to transfer queries to SQL/VBA verbatim. SQL uses different punctuation than Access queries/VBA. Trying to copy a query's SQL view to SQL query is painful. The " is a ' in SQL and some of the commands in VBA are not/don't act the same in SQL.

  2. Bring Back Form Templates

I was disappointed to see that the form templates went away. Some of us are colorblind and need a little help when it comes to designing forms. I don't like changing all of the forms in the database with the default form option.

If I'm missing something, please let me know.

  4. make text field in form shapable

make text fields slightly more flexible by enabling it to wrap around titles or field names, so the text field is not required to be a rectangle, the designer can take advantage of even a small space underneath or to the right of the field's title.

  6. Force columns to use blank space

I am designing a continuous report where I would like the details area to wrap into two or more columns in order to use up some of the blank space, but because my data doesn't reach the bottom of the page it won't show in columns.

Please could you find a way to force data into a set number of columns so that less blank space is shown on reports?

  9. Provide a linux version of the Xbox App.

I want to talk to my friends on the Xbox app however I use Linux. If the Xbox app is free for windows 10 users, why not create a version Linux too. I have an Xbox but it would be convenient to talk on Linux.

  12. PIVOT TABLE VIEW SHOULD BE BRING BACK AS IT SERVES A LOT IN ANALYSIS

    SIR,

Actually i am working in delhi police department and at local level we maintain data on crime of our district by making small software with many constraints during entry.

as we have ..you can say constable who dont know computer at all). (at first i taught them basic computer then they get able to feed data as required.). I have made small software in access and they feed data on regular basis regarding crime.

thereafter through pivot we analyse very easily.

For them to bring data on every now and then to excel and then analysis is cumbersome. earlier…

  14. Access fouoMac

  15. Fix the issue of Access returning an incorrect record ID when a bound form is connected to a SQL Server table that has an insert trigger

Access returns an incorrect record ID when a form is bound to an SQL Server table that has an 'insert trigger' that inserts a record into 'another' table. The record ID returned is actually the record ID of the trigger inserted record into the 'other' table. This is because Access calls SQL Server for @@IDENTITY rather than SCOPE_IDENTITY() when inserting a new record. This particularly affects SQL Server tables that are 'replicated' as these tables have an MS shipped 'insert trigger' on the table for use in replication. We have an MS Support Case # 23043471 where we have had…

  16. Query Editor - Make it smarter for INSERT INTO queries

Currently, if an existing INSERT INTO query has a problem with an underlying query (if there is an error due to a renamed supporting query or table name, for example), the Query Editor inserts new "phantom alias names" into the QueryDef for each column.
So, the resulting SQL looks sort of like this:
INSERT INTO MyTable (ColA, ColB, ColC...)
SELECT MyDerivedColA as Expr1, MyColB as Expr2, MyDerivedColC as Expr3…
FROM (from clause with some underlying table/query naming error here)...

My request is that since the Query editor is "smart enough" to introduce those "Expr#" Alias labels when needed due to…

  18. Display the control reference

From the many times problems with determining how a control should be referenced appear on a google search, I think it would be useful if a right click of a control object provided how it should be refenced by a query, form or report external to the object in which it resides.

  19. Provide some SDLC Support with more developer-centric features, like SQL and/or VBA Script generation

Given the typical Dev/Test/Prod development staging methodologies, and the great ease by which changes to database objects (especially "supporting"-type changes like adding indexes to existing tables) can occur in a software development cycle, it would be very beneficial to allow the built-in Access Table, Query, Form, and Report designers to save the "state" of the overall object, and at "Save"-time offer an option to Generate VBA and/or SQL scripts that can help to facilitate the (re-)deployment of the new changes to partnering databases (migrate the changes from Test back to Dev or Prod copies of a database, for example).
    Being…
