Maybe this is too much to ask. Can we request to to evolve from VBA to vb.net? allowing us to take advantages of parallel executions?

Agreed. With so much being done with external, remote sources (Azure, various web services, etc), an async/callback model for VBA would be a massive help.
I was able to cobble some functionality together here: http://www.dymeng.com/techblog/async-processing-in-access/ ... but the aritecture required to support it is a major pain.

Agree. This needs to happen. More than any other issue I get stuck with my database being hobbled by one or two actions that are slow on execution. The whole application is stuck waiting on them. Having the processes shunted onto another task while the system moves on would help greatly
