Why is it so hard to get at database Objects' metadata?
These items are VERY useful when we are asked to go fix a previous coder/employee who may or may not be with us any more. Elsewhere in this forum others have suggested adding Notes field with date/time stamps for each object. I endorse that.
Would be really sweet if there was a quick way to get to items like the Description field in a Table definition, the existing Description field for objects (right click on object in Database or F11 window). I note that a right click is pretty quick, but this means you can only see one object at a time and we cannot build a Report on all objects.
Have fooled around with the Database Documenter (Database Tools, Analyze) but this one does NOT regurgitate the right click Properties text. The various MSys objects reveal useful data also, but we are jumping through hoops to get at these.
While doing this, let us remember the database is itself an object as are backend files and external dependencies. Please give us a way to track and report all of these with just a couple of clicks to choose the level of detail.
