I suggest you ...

DoCmd.OutputTo acOutputReport, , acFormatPDF..." crashes after 10 minutes (Access 2016)

Create PDF in accdb is no problem.

Create PDF in accde or accdr crashes after 10 minutes or sporadic
only with Access 2016 (with 2007, 2010, 2013 everything is fine)

        Michal - the fix doesn't seem to have rolled through to the Access 2016 verson that we run through Office 365 (the issue hasn't gone away). Is there a way to force our version to update itself? Help please! Thank you - Pete

        Great, thanks for fixing this!
        Is the patch part of the Office patch day (june 6, 2017)?
        Which KB-article please?

        Great, thanks for fixing this! Could you tell us the exact version/build numbers for Office 2016 CTR, Office 2016 MSI and Access 2016 Runtime that contain the fix, so that we can plan deployment to your customers?

        Following some tests, I can confirm that our .accdr running on Access 2016 (via Office 365) prints perfectly to PDF using OutputTo, but if we wait for 80 minutes, printing to PDF results in our '.accdr closing down, with no visible error message, leaving us looking at the desktop. How is the fix coming on, Access Team?

        ...and we didn't have this problem until we upgraded our office machines onto Office 365 - no issues when we were using Access 2010 and runtime.

        We experience application crashes when using DoCmd.OutputTo acOutputReport (acFormatPDF) - usualy the first time our 'save file' command button is clicked, but on restarting the aplicaton, it saves to PDF perfectly. At some stage later in the day this sequence repeats itself. We have three machines running our front end and they al experience this sequence independently of each other. We are using the Office 365 2016 version of Access, and our front ends are .accdr. I can't emulate the same error in my home office. I'm wondering if it might be to do with file permissions - ie access to the folder where the file is to be saved?

        Any updates from the Access team? This has been a problem for more than a year now, and we are losing faith. Our organization uses Access as our primary GUI and OutputTo is a regular command throughout our code.

        I did some additional testing;
        Version: Access 2016 - 16.0.6769.2017

        1.create a simple Report
        2.create a Form - set Timer Intervall 600000
        3.Set Event on Timer:

        Private Sub Form_Timer()

        Dim strFile As String

        strFile = "C:\Temp\A2016PDF-test\PDFs\" & Format(Now, "hhmmss") & ".pdf"

        DoCmd.OutputTo acOutputReport, "Areport", acFormatPDF, strFile, True, , , acExportQualityPrint

        End Sub

        Save as test.accdb

        and compile as test.accde

        open test.accdb

        > after 10 minutes PDF is created

        open test.accde

        > after 10 minutes PDF is created

        rename test.accdb to test.accdr

        > after 10 minutes Access crashes

        rename test.accde to test.accdr

        > after 10 minutes Access crashes

        ------------------------------------------------------------

        Do the same with timerintervall 15000

        > every 15 seconds a PDF is created without Problems

        So the Problem seems to be, if Access idles for several minutes.
