Clearer Error Messages
I have been getting error messages when trying to export a file from Access to file. Sometimes the export worked and sometimes it didnt. Access produced an error but it was not clear where the error was. It was simply that some of the files I was exporting included special characters ie "/" symbol. Surely if Access can recognise the error it give a clearer indication in plain English as to where error was.. in this case the error could have read 'Incorrect format of file to export'. Not everyone is experienced in VBA and we try to learn as we go along but some of the error messages Access produces often makes things even more confusing.

I'm out of votes but I would like to have more descriptive error message that tells what column I should focus on.

Dear Anonymous - I am experienced in VBA, and I'm here to say the error messages in Access are horrid, an attack on user productivity. I make a lot of my living in Access VBA and have come to hate much of it. I just got a "the expression on click you entered as the event property, etc" and there is NO help to it - no focus as to WHERE the error is happening. This is utterly typical for MS - there is no sense anyone in the firm cares an iota for my getting work done.
