  1. Intellisense sometimes crashes the first time you try to use it in VBA code

Every now and again, each of our developers experiences an issue where Access will crash the first time you try to use intellisense when writing VBA code.

To get back up and running, decompiling the database always fixes the issue, but surely the editor could deal with this by suggesting the user decompiles and recompiles the code, instead of dropping out and potentially losing a lot of unsaved changes.

Example from such a crash -

Faulting application name: MSACCESS.EXE, version: 16.0.13029.20534, time stamp: 0x5f53f9d7
Faulting module name: VBE7.DLL, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x5ea725ac
    Exception code: 0xc0000005
    Fault offset: 0x000256bc

  2. DatePicker should honour the textbox format property when set to a custom format

For MS Access textboxes on Forms that handle dates you can set the textbox to allow the user to optionally use a built-in DatePicker. However the DatePicker returns the date in a format set by the Windows system (e.g. as Set by Control Panel > Region > |Formats| > [Additional Settings ...] > |Date| > Short Date:)

If you use a unorthodox windows system date format, e.g. "yyyy-/MM-MMM/-dd, ddd" returning "2021/-05-May/-18, Wed" then this can be undesirably returned by the DatePicker.

Instead the DatePicker should return a date that honors any custom format set by in Format property of the…

  4. form Design Tools Control formatting for labels, textfields, combobox, listbox, background

If we want applications made with Ms access to look more modern and more Webdesign applications competitive, we need more designing tools for forms. A plugIn like now date and time, should be expanded with more standard plugins like calendar, clock, Agenda ( ms outlook), Tasks(ms Teams).

The control formatting should be made for all the controls and not just only for buttons.

  9. make text field in form shapable

make text fields slightly more flexible by enabling it to wrap around titles or field names, so the text field is not required to be a rectangle, the designer can take advantage of even a small space underneath or to the right of the field's title.

  11. Bring Back Form Templates

I was disappointed to see that the form templates went away. Some of us are colorblind and need a little help when it comes to designing forms. I don't like changing all of the forms in the database with the default form option.

If I'm missing something, please let me know.

  12. improve format options for some controls

    1. Formatting functionality (shapes/styles) for buttons replicated for textboxes, labels and rectangles, perhaps others.

    2. Option to resize and format check and option boxes

    3. The option for a line to include an arrowhead and perhaps flight. aka shapes in excel/word.

    4. The ability to map one control to another (similar to labels mapping to controls) but with the ability to choose which corner maps to which corner

  13. Maintain focus on a form when debugging

When debugging, the form from which a process may have been launched loses focus. so to debug code behind, I need to close all other forms so I can see data changes on the form I'm debugging.

  15. Improve the Listbox Control

Because the Listbox control doesn't support text alignment or having a different font colour and formatting per cell, it's sometimes necessary to use a ListView, which has to be programmatically filled and formatted.

It would be a great time saver and enhancement to the ListBox if it could support left/center/right horizontal text alignment per column and the ability to apply formatting to specific "cells", perhaps using RTF code or conditional formatting.

  16. Automated Office 365 Migration

EdbMails simplifies Office 365 Migration by automating the configuration and migration tasks. Effectively transfers the data between two Office 365 tenants. It allows you to migrate all the existing mailboxes, contacts and distribution groups, etc. from one Office 365 tenant to another. Its incremental migration feature avoids duplicates on the target mailbox.

    Key Features & Advantages:

    • It can perform as a single batch move that includes all of your mailboxes, contacts, and distribution group objects, etc.

    • Designed with multithreading which improves migration speed and saves lot of time.

    • Only the newly added items are migrated to your target server on…

  17. Protect Rich Text Box Links

I use Rich Text boxes to store Email Templates, so that the text looks nice as an Email and also contains HTML Web links.
However, if anyone tries to edit the box in Rich Text mode, all the links immediately disappear

    eg: <a href="https://www.w3schools.com/">Visit W3Schools.com!</a>

    gets turned into Visit W3Schools.com!.

Can we retain any links when editing the box in normal mode please?

  18. Allow the "suggest link fields" dialogue box to be expanded (desktop version)

I have a subform which isn't working, so I wanted to check which parent and child forms are linked.

There is a dialogue box with a 'suggest' button.

When I click it, the box is not resizable, so I have no idea what Access is suggesting I use to link my subform becuase the text is longer than the box allows.

    Poor show, Microsoft. Please fix.

  19. Modern charts - bug or by design?

Not sure if anyone else has run into this issue. The modern charts clustered bar (was what i found this issue on) if the X axis displays a date range and that date range is fixed as month or year or day or quarter and the form is saved then if you have a method that you call in some way that tries to change the dates type (from say month to day or year to month) then this will not action. it runs; but does not actually do anything. If you design the form and change the graphs date…
