  1. BugFix: Combo Datatype bug

    Please fix the combo box RowSource datatype binding bug.

    The bug is as follows:
    1. Create a table [Table1] with two columns:
    - [NumberField], datatype: Number, Double
    - [TextField], datatype: Short Text

    Add 1 Row to the table:
    [NumberField] = 10
    [TextField] = "Some Text 10"

    2. Create a combo box:
    - Set the RowSource of the combo box to this:
    SELECT NumberField, TextField FROM Table1;

    3. Add a Button to the form: [cmbErrorExample]
    Add On Click Event:
    If Me.cmbErrorExample.RowSource = "SELECT NumberField, TextField FROM Table1;" Then
    Me.cmbErrorExample.RowSource = "SELECT TextField, NumberField FROM Table1;"
    Me.cmbErrorExample.DefaultValue = "Some Text 10"
    Me.cmbErrorExample.Value…

  2. Add a TreeGrid Control

    A TreeGrid control could be used in forms, or as just a Tree control. This should be a somewhat customizable look and feel.

  3. improve performance of conditional formating

    conditional formating is a great feature but slow when data is not small and forms flicker. Can you please improve that?
    By the way: Shadows of Buttons flicker too.

  4. Add Form position properties (x and y) to window screen

    It would be great if access form (either overlapped or popup form) has X and Y poperty fixed to active screen (measurement in twips). As far I know, the property LEFT and TOP are relative to their window (most value are 0 if a form in topmost or leftmost.

  5. Limits are reached - if I open one more form: Error 3048: Cannot open any more databases

    I have 2 reports and 1 form open. Each of theses has complex data sources (with many joins, subqueries...). If I open an fourth report - I get the error message.

    I think the limits are to low. Please upgrade them.

  6. Allow arrow up/down keys to move between previous/next row in continuous form

    In a datasheet form we can navigate left/right as well as up/down, navigating between different rows of the recordset.

    In continuous forms the up/down errors behave the same as left/right.

    Nowadays, to achieve the described behavior we have to catch the KeyDown event in a continuous form and MoveNext or MovePrevious with error handling for first/last record etc.

    Instead the behavior should be the same as in datasheet form.
    There can be an option similar to "Move after <Enter>".

  7. Access 2016: Form border width is too narrow .

    Sizeable MDI forms in Access 2016 have a single-pixel border that is very hard to grab with the mouse.

    The form borders show as a single-pixel whether the form mode is "no border", "dialog", "sizable" or "thin".

    One work-around is to make the form a popup form, but if you make every single form in the database popup, you lose the MDI functionality and the ability to have a genuine popup form. When everything is on top then effectively nothing is.

    This creates a serious accessibility issue particularly when combined with the fact that MS Access forms and controls don't…

  8. Add more shapes to forms besides just the rectangle. And also have the ability to rotate them please. Like Word and Excel can.

    Allow us to add more shapes to forms besides just the rectangle. And also have the ability to rotate them please. Like Word and Excel can. Thank you.

  10. Bug Report: MSACCESS.EXE in ProcMon shows hundred of thousands of ReadFile Operations to a temp file

    After update to Office 365 ProPlus 1808, a my customer start complaining about very unresponsive form in an application they have been using for many years.
    I have been testing and checking for several days (with SQL Profiler, Wireshark packet sniffer and ProcMon), and seems the problem is reading %userprofile%\appdata\Local\Temp\JET8F62.tmp, which MSACCESS.EXE is doing a ReadFile Operation to. When the applications start to get unresponsive, many thousand reads are done to the same temp file. I have tried to change ODBC Driver (ordinary SQL Server v10, ODBC Driver 17 for SQL Server, V2017.172), I have tried to convert the .MDB…

  11. Add collapsible sections/regions to forms. Something similar to the existing form header/footers layouts.

    The ability to hide/unhide areas of the form would really help cleanup the UI and help enhance the user experience.

  13. Autocomplete for calculated access form controls

    When in form design mode. It's really time consuming write calculated fields. It would be great to have autocomplete formula like for built in access functions and database objects directly inside edited control.

  14. Select Navigation control Tab programmatically

    Hi Team,

    Currently we use this command to switch to a tab in a
    NavigationControl

    DoCmd.BrowseTo acBrowseToForm, TabToOpen, Me.name & ".NavigationSubform"

    This works fine if there is a unique NavigationTargetName for the selected Tab/Button. If we have two or more Tabs with the same target form name, we are unable to open a specific Tab. The first tab with the matching targetName is opened.

    I.e. TabA and TabC has the same targetFormName X
    if we use the following command

    DoCmd.BrowseTo acBrowseToForm, X, Me.name & ".NavigationSubform"

    TabA is activated.

    Problem: How do we activate TabC?

    Regarding why we have same targetFormName:…

  15. Add sorting and grouping to multiple-item forms

    Add sorting and grouping to multiple-item forms, working in the same way as found in reports. You'll probably need to prevent the addition of editable/save-able fields in the group headers and footers though (maybe force them to Enable=false and/or Locked=true).

  16. ITEMS in Detail Section with Crosstab Queries and specified fixed headings should have option to suppress repeating

    Whenever an ITEM such as a heading progress bar is in the Detail section, so if you display the form as Continuous Forms, you will see a progress bar in each displayed record. It will happen whenever a Continuous Form displays more than one record.

    The only way to avoid this is to move the progress bar to the form header (or footer) section.

    Please refer to the attached design, on the very last page described in microsoft forums.

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msoffice_access-mso_windows8-mso_2010/crosstab-query-to-display-all-records-according-to/b98b9372-1a83-402d-b54d-87ca5b7a7407?messageId=c8966d76-2bcd-4a49-a1cc-83cdcf71a483

    Either an access development enhancement to enable this would provide more flexibility to create complicated reports.

    Thank you kindly.

  18. Picture viewer like web site

    For a recording, viewer externals pictures (folders & names in a table) with 3-5 thumbnails if several images for the recording.
    Zoom with a clic on a thumbnail.
    Functionnality to add new images or delete imge for the table.

    Native functionality.
    It 's possible with a VBA code but if it's a build-in...

    Thanks

  19. Improve the Basic Graphics Model

    Add levels of transparency, blur, shadows, and drop shadows. We can fake some of these today, but it takes a lot of resources and time. These are all things needed to make apps look modern in Windows 10.

  20. conditional formating rules on controls

    Add the ability to set border color and thickness and line type. Also allow conditional formatting for checkboxes - Would be nice to not have to do this all in code.
