  1. Auto refresh linked tables, when front-end file moved

Auto refresh linked tables, when front-end file moved. Relink to current folder if back-end not found.
Best usage is to split front-end from Jet back-end.
Often we move this 2 files to a new location, but then we have to relink manually. Imho, it would be nice to have an automation\option that detect that we moved the front-end file, and that relink to the back-end in the current new folder (the same as FE folder). Of course it should be optionally, because many times we leave the BE in the same old location on the network LAN. Thanks for reading.

    • Develop the SQL User Interface

SQL is something that I find particularly useful when I am running a database. However, the SQL user interface is very poor in my opinion. It should be more something like the Visual Basic interface, where when you start typing in a formula, then it has a dropdown with all your options and when you select the function from the dropdown, it will show you how to build the formula. For me it becomes very time consuming to have to go online to figure out how the function is built. Also it would be great if it can be colour…

      • Be able to export *.accb encrypted data to Word

        Issue:
Access database in the current *.accdb format contains a client table & queries used as a data source in Word Mail Merge. The Access database is encrypted and password protected using the recommended encryption (default), but Word Mail Merge can't open the data source (using OLE DB Database Files or MS Access Database via ODBC (*.mdb.accdb)). Switching to the older encryption (legacy) bypasses the issue on costs of weaker encryption or using the deprecated MS Access Database via DDE (*.mdb,*.mde) but this causes Access to shut down after the Word document is closed (this DDE method is not recommend…

        • Render Tab Character (ASCII 9) Correctly in Textbox

When pasting data into Access Text boxes, if the data contains the tab character (ASCII 9) the tab is not rendered correctly. What's worse is that moving the arrow key after that character also behaves strangely. The cursor appears to be in one location but edits to the text occur in a different location. Please fix this UI issue.

              • Enable Access (and all VBA apps) to work with the new Microsoft Graph

"Microsoft Graph is the gateway to data and intelligence in Microsoft 365. Microsoft Graph provides a unified programmability model that you can use to take advantage of the tremendous amount of data in Office 365, Enterprise Mobility + Security, and Windows 10.
You can use the Microsoft Graph API to build apps for organizations and consumers that interact with the data of millions of users. With Microsoft Graph, you can connect to a wealth of resources, relationships, and intelligence, all through a single endpoint: https://graph.microsoft.com."

                    • Password Expiration

I would like to be able to set a date where the Password is no longer valid. We have many people using the database on their laptops in the field. If they leave the company they can continue to access the data for ever as long as they have the Password. We can protect the back end database using code but that does not help to stop someone from linking to the tables with a new front end. If there was an expiration date we could provide a new back end every month to current staff members.

                          • ITEMS in Detail Section with Crosstab Queries and specified fixed headings should have option to suppress repeating

Whenever an ITEM such as a heading progress bar is in the Detail section, so if you display the form as Continuous Forms, you will see a progress bar in each displayed record. It will happen whenever a Continuous Form displays more than one record.

The only way to avoid this is to move the progress bar to the form header (or footer) section.

Please refer to the attached design, on the very last page described in microsoft forums.

                            https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msoffice_access-mso_windows8-mso_2010/crosstab-query-to-display-all-records-according-to/b98b9372-1a83-402d-b54d-87ca5b7a7407?messageId=c8966d76-2bcd-4a49-a1cc-83cdcf71a483

Either an access development enhancement to enable this would provide more flexibility to create complicated reports.

                            Thank you kindly.

                            • Enable the use of longer database passwords (security)

Please raise the allowed and supported password length to at least 20 characters (as in Access 2007).

For security reasons our company releases a new security guideline so that every relevant application has to use passwords at least 20 characters long.
This would mean several hundred password encrypted databases from various versions of access are no longer allowed to be used.

Technically it is possible to use a 20 character long password within a database (backwards compatibility). But this doesn't work with linked objects. The Connect-String in MSysObjects stays empty.
The use of more than 14 characters is not supported…

                                      • Allow users to import text files that do not have a txt extension
