  3. Intellisense sometimes crashes the first time you try to use it in VBA code

Every now and again, each of our developers experiences an issue where Access will crash the first time you try to use intellisense when writing VBA code.

To get back up and running, decompiling the database always fixes the issue, but surely the editor could deal with this by suggesting the user decompiles and recompiles the code, instead of dropping out and potentially losing a lot of unsaved changes.

Example from such a crash -

Faulting application name: MSACCESS.EXE, version: 16.0.13029.20534, time stamp: 0x5f53f9d7
Faulting module name: VBE7.DLL, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x5ea725ac
    Exception code: 0xc0000005
    Fault offset: 0x000256bc

  7. Fix the "System Resource Exceeded" error that requires Processor Affinity be set to 0.

We have a number of users at work who regularly report, when using Access 2016, that they get a "System Resource Exceeded" error when running certain queries. It is intermittent, but happens frequently. Didn't used to happen on Office 2010, or under Windows 7. Happens regularly under Office 2016 under Windows 10.

Multiple threads online point to the current "workaround" being to set Processor Affinity to 0, rather than utilizing all cores of the process. This seems like a shitty solution, and it would be better if the underlying issue(s) with using multi-core processor(s) would be fixed, so the workaround…

  10. Add an additional GetOption/SetOption option to set the Startup Form

Sometimes we want to programmatically set the startup form and that is currently not possible.
Please add GetOption("Startup Form") and SetOption("Startup form").
I would use this feature in my "To Convention" code that fixes up bad naming convention.

  13. Access 365 runtime bug

Since the office update 2019 version 2009 (build 13231.20262) it is impossible for my users to open a program with Access 365 32-bit runtime, there is a message like "the database was unrecognized format ..."

P.S. if I compile my program on another computer with an earlier version, everything works.
Any solution otherwise an Office roolback version?

  16. DatePicker should honour the textbox format property when set to a custom format

For MS Access textboxes on Forms that handle dates you can set the textbox to allow the user to optionally use a built-in DatePicker. However the DatePicker returns the date in a format set by the Windows system (e.g. as Set by Control Panel > Region > |Formats| > [Additional Settings ...] > |Date| > Short Date:)

If you use a unorthodox windows system date format, e.g. "yyyy-/MM-MMM/-dd, ddd" returning "2021/-05-May/-18, Wed" then this can be undesirably returned by the DatePicker.

Instead the DatePicker should return a date that honors any custom format set by in Format property of the…

  18. Provide a way to connect access contact form to skype

I used to be able to click on a number on an access Form textbox and it would automatically open skype and phone the number. Can we have that ability back again. You have produced a very nice contact form template, but it does not have that function which seems surprising.

  19. Allow trusted Add-ins as User instead of Admin

In order to add a Add-in (.mda) file into MS Access, the user has to be in the local admins group. Even if you are a domain admin, not having local admin rights won't work because your user profile changes when you open MS Access as Admin with other credentials.

Full Detail: In order to Install an Add-in library in MS Access 2016 (and at least the two prior versions) you have to open MS Access 'Run as Administrator', then do the install, then close and reopen as the standard user. If you are not in the local administrators group…
