  6. adding new features to Microsoft Access

    Introduction

    Microsoft Access is an application for database which a lot of companies, schools, colleges, and universities are using it in order to manage the information of their employees or students. Our project tending to make Microsoft Access easier to be used by its users by improving the security of the databases and the ease of entering the information into these databases. Nowadays the barcode scanners are popular in almost everywhere, and the QR scanners. Our project is to link a barcode/QR scanner to Microsoft Access in order to make it easier to enter the information to the databases and…

  7. Allow formatting of record selector

    Most of the user interface can be customized to achieve a modern look and feel. The record selector has no real formatting options.
    For instance it the user uses a black windows theme the record selectors really do not fit in with the way I have designed the application.

    It would be nice if we could
    A) Control the color of the record selector (Normal Background, Selected Backgound)
    B) Icons: Let us designate our own icons for Arrow, Asterisk, Edit,Locked mode.

  8. Data Macro/T-SQL Conversion

    I find creating event-driven and standalone Data Macros much more convenient than coding Triggers or Stored Procedures in T-SQL (even though they only support a subset of the T-SQL Possibilities). It would be great if they would be converted with SSMA or even better could be created directly on a Linked SQL-Server Table. I think Data Macro/T-SQL Conversion does already exist in AWA so maybe this wouldn’t be so costly to implement.

  9. Add data tables to modern charts in MS Access

    In classic charts and/or Excel you can show the data table for the related chart underneath. Need to add that functionality to the new Modern Charts in Access. I have some classic charts that do this already but the development time using that outdated Active X control is frustrating.

  10. allow a form field to be searchable on a popup form.

    Allow a form field to be searchable in a pop up form, instead of graying out the Find section. It doesn't just gray out the View button. I wanted my form to be pop up and searchable, but no-go.

  11. Allow developers of ACCESS databases to disable or hide the "Tell me what you want to do" tab. This gives users too much power.

    Allow developers or Admin for ACCESS databases the option to Hide or Disable the "Tell me what you want to do" tab. This tab allows users way too much access to things they shouldn't have access to. For example, a curious user could just type the word DESIGN, select query design and it takes them into query design. I don't want my users to have ANY database manager access!

  14. Allow hyperlinks in MS Access to open a shared file on SharePoint

    Currently, hyperlinks in MS Access to a shared file on SharePoint does not open. One gets the error = "Unable to open <link>. Cannot download the information you requested". If it is a hyperlink to a normal website (e.g. www....) it does work. This error applies to both data in hyperlink-formatted fields as well as hyperlinks embedded in form controls. Access simply cannot access data in SharePoint via URL. This is a major deficiency in the program and should be solved.

  15. Drop-Down - Combo-Box with requery/filter behaviour as you type

    Currently the combobox can only be searched with the starting characters.
    Is it possible to extend it with an internet like behaviour:
    a combination of a textbox + combobox in 1 control which gives us the possibility to filter the recordset while typing.

  16. Printing Vertical

    Maps can't be rotated when creating images to print. True.

    But if there are "4x6" and "8.5x11" sheet sizes, is it not possible to also create "6x4" and "11x8.5" sheet sizes so that there is at least one other orientation option. (Some text might be oriented wrong, but for some territory shapes it would be worth the slight inconvenience)

  17. BugFix: Combo Datatype bug

    Please fix the combo box RowSource datatype binding bug.

    The bug is as follows:
    1. Create a table [Table1] with two columns:
    - [NumberField], datatype: Number, Double
    - [TextField], datatype: Short Text

    Add 1 Row to the table:
    [NumberField] = 10
    [TextField] = "Some Text 10"

    1. Create a combo box:

    2. Set the RowSource of the combo box to this:
      SELECT NumberField, TextField FROM Table1;

    3. Add a Button to the form: [cmbErrorExample]
      Add On Click Event:
      If Me.cmbErrorExample.RowSource = "SELECT NumberField, TextField FROM Table1;" Then
      Me.cmbErrorExample.RowSource = "SELECT TextField, NumberField FROM Table1;"
      Me.cmbErrorExample.DefaultValue = "Some Text 10"
      Me.cmbErrorExample.Value = "Some Text…

  18. Support for geospatial data

    One of the massive gaps in Access is support for geospatial data. I would like to be able to use Access to store, manipulate and view geographic data, using a geography and/or geometry data type.

  19. BugFix Request: Garbage in Tab Control Labels

    When you set a Tab control not to use theme, the tabs title labels use to get corrupted, getting garbage and text artifacts around. Sometimes it is even impossible to read. And amazingly it happen also in the tabs of the access properties sheet of form and controls
