  2. Fix Bug with Min and DMin aggregate functions in presence of zero-length strings

If there are zero-length strings in a text field of a table, then Min and DMin may return wrong results. I have described this in detail here:

    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/dc948ff4-c5cc-4159-9f97-f04b72ac30c6/access-false-results-with-min-and-dmin-aggregate-functions-on-text-fields-in-the-presence-of-zero?forum=accessdev

Microsoft Support has confirmed that this is a bug.It is still present in Access 2016.

Thanks to develop an mobile app for Microsoft access to use it with iphone or android tablet like "filemaker go". It will be great to take photos, datas with an access phone app and after to synchronize with the computer.
I think, it is very important to use it offline because it is not possible to have internet everywhere !!!! Thanks to work about it :):)

    Thanks for your suggestion.
We realize that Access is not the right tool for today’s mobile world, and Microsoft as a company is invested in finding solutions.
Currently, there is no plan to create Access version for mobile devices.

    Thanks,
    Michal [MSFT]

  5. BUG: Find and Replace Access 2016 and 2010

There appears to be a bug within Microsoft Access on at least 2016 and 2010 release versions.

When doing a Find and Replace on a Field, the first record is acted upon twice in certain circumstances.

When Highlighting the Entire Column or just one cell, the first cell of the field, or the one cell chosen gets acted upon twice by the find and replace after hitting Replace all.

I can provide screen shots upon request, but you should be able to reproduce this easily using

    1
    21
    312

and doing a find On 1 and replace with 1L

    you…

  6. Reactivate "Require Variable Declaration" and "Option Explicit"

The option "Require Variable Declaration" in the VBA Editor's Options dialog is deactivated by default. So "Option Explicit" is not added automatically to new modules. If unexperienced programmers forget to declare variables this can result in unexpected errors.

It seems that you could easily change the default value of this option to "activated" (it is one key in the windows registry).

I don't even understand why the default value of this option was changed.

  7. Buy Fishers "Find and Replace" and incorporate it into Access

License or buy Rick Fisher's Find and Replace and incorporate it into Access. Works extremeley well. Nice extra features like linked table manager.

    Thanks for your suggestion.
However, it is very broad and hard to understand what are the problems you are trying to solve.
There are a few other suggestions related to Find and Replace – please vote on them or create specific suggestions for the existing functionality.

    Thanks,
    Michal [MSFT]

  11. Design Access to create front ends to use on Android

Android is the world leading mobile platform yet Access cannot create front ends which could be used on say mobile phones or tablets and connect to a central database back end on a local network. This means that Small to Medium Enterprises are moving away from windows and Access and emplyoying specialists to create Apps for their mobile devices and use MySQL for the back ends.

  13. Access database plugin system

Many of the ideas on here correctly identify that Access is a great database tool.
However would have great value as a frontend to different databases, AZURE, MS Server, MySQL, PowerQuery direct integration.

So create a plugin system to allow the user to change db's local or remote

PowerQuery is a great Excel feature which allows users to discover, combine and refine data across a wide variety of sources.
Access allows users to connect to a wide array of external data sources (including Azure SQL and SQL) server in a way that is unique to Access users and scenarios.
When we think of data management solutions across Office, we think of Excel and Access as somewhat complementary products, but not competing.
With that, duplicating capabilities from one product to another is not supportive of this perspective.
We are looking at further enhancing and improving Access’s abilities to connect to external data sources, but not in the form of integrating PowerQuery.

  14. Offline Help

Put offline help back into Access 2016. From what I have read online, no one is able to find it and there are many who need it. I don't have Internet access at home and I want to be able to work from home.

    Thanks for your suggestion.
The Help system is actually a shared piece of engineering owned by a different team and surfaced within all of the Office applications. As such, this isn’t really an action item that the Access development team can take in isolation of the existing Office system.
We have passed on this feedback though to the correct team for their consideration. They did ask us to forward on the following information to you:
You can download an Access 2016 VBA CHM file on GitHub for offline use. You can find it here:
    https://github.com/OfficeDev/VBA-content/blob/master/README.md

    Thanks,
    Michal [MSFT]

  16. test

any Kind of test Automation Support would be very appriciated.
this would make Acc development much more professional, by the way: Access is still the greatest RAD development Environment for buisiness database applications!

  17. Admit to the World that Microsoft is refocusing Access on the client and that there will be future versions ...

I understand that your team has on many occasions in the last 8+ months told people under NDA details of future plans for Access Client. The market believes that Access client is finished and being wound up ... If this is true I would like to know why this is such a secret.

I am not as interested in what you are planning than in the fact that you ARE planning SOMETHING. I can take that to clients and sell them Access solutions or at least convince them not to get rid of the ones that they already rely on…

  18. Reports:"fit to page" sizing options, like Excel has.

I've been requesting this since Access version 1!! Why can reports not allow you to "fit to page"? It's always been ludicrous that, in Design, when placing controls, one has no idea whether they will fit within the margins or not - you have to go into Print Preview to check! An option to fit the report onto one page, and perhaps scaling options like Excel has, would make reports so much more effective and easy to create. I cannot believe that tis cannot be achieved.

Thank you for posting and supporting.

Although a valuable suggestion and we can see how it can be useful to many, currently there is no plan to support this.
However, we’d like to recommend using Layout view which will mitigate some of the problems mentioned.

    Thanks,
    The Access Team

  19. VBA editor: Ctrl D for duplicate current line of code

It is very common to Copy&Paste a line of VBA code, e.g. when working with recordsets. It would be very very helpful to a hot key repeating lines of code.
