  2. Add a TreeGrid Control

A TreeGrid control could be used in forms, or as just a Tree control. This should be a somewhat customizable look and feel.

  5. give users a warning when an update statement fails to add a new record to a recordset

When using an update statement (via Excel VBA) to add records to a database no error message is given when the update statement fails to add the record.

Using a loop to add records to a recordset, when one of the addnew statements fail no error message is given to the users and none of the other items in the loop following the record that fails get processed.

EG_If the loop has 100 records to add, if the 50th record fails, then the records 51 to 100 in the loop don't get processed. BUT NO ERROR MESSAGE!!!

  6. Fix cursor alignment when editing USysRibbons XML text.

Custom UI xml is uneditable from within Access at the table level, from queries or forms, due to the cursor not being properly aligned with the text. I would love to be able to manage my content controls from within the application, instead of copy pasting the xml from external applications and hiding/unhiding the USysRibbons table. It's not an overly complicated task to validate XML from vba, but the inability to easily edit the text, makes it impossible to incorporate this workflow.

  8. Upgrade Access SQL dialect to current ANSI standards

MS Access's ACE SQL engine continues to run with a variant form of ANSI-89 with some ANSI-92 features while the rest of the relational database world has adopted more recent ANSI standards and at the very least fully comply to the universal, lowest common denominator standard accepted in the industry: ANSI-1992.

Being a highly used, worldwide database for small to medium-sized shops and its popularity with the Office suite, enhancing Access's dialect to industry standards will add value to current and future users including the Microsoft brand. Even SQLite, a similar, very popular file-level database as open-source counterpart to Access,…

  9. Field Properties in Table Design, needs to be on the right, like it is for Forms and Reports

Table deign is a huge waste of screen real estate - the field property dialog should be on the right side of the screen, like it is in report and form design, with the drop down button right next to the property's text, not on the other side of the screen. Not a single property is longer than the name of the property choices available, and the ones that could be longer, just bring up the Expression Builder dialog anyway. The idea being to get as much usable information on the screen as possible - like all of my field…

  10. Add a transposed view option to query design - columns and rows swapped.

The standard view is hard to use... being able to see all of my fields in query design at one time and the very few, rarely used; sort, criteria, table, etc options to one side would be much easier to use/maintain. Too much scrolling and resizing involved. We currently have 6 default row options in a Select query, but can only see 11 fields at the default size meaning any long field names or expressions are truncated or push related fields off the screen, that you need to see while editing the other.

  11. MS Outlook - Add option in Rules to redirect email according to domain extension

Rules in Outlook allow for a lot of email redirecting, but not by domain extension. I was starting to get a lot of junk email from domain extension, ".de" which refers to the Republic of Germany. I don't have anything to do with that are of the world. I just want to 'mark as read'/delete any email with that domain extension.

  13. Access database in an inconsistent state...Windows 10 1803 update

Access database in an inconsistent state....since the release of Windows 10, 1803 our significant percentage of our 3500 customers have consistently lost connection to the back-end database and been forced to stop work during the day to repair their database. Only recently did we discover the leasing fix. In the meantime, our product reputation has been adversely affected. Please release a production update since many of the IT people have refused to make the lanmanserver registry entry and are waiting for the Windows update. HELLO MICROSOFT PLEASE HELP!!

  14. Have a box to check to not use client ID's on reports

We are a small firm. We do not use client ID's for anything. You should have a feature, or box to check, for small firms that don't use IDs to check so that we do not see them on any reports that print. It looks terrible to see a client ID that was created for a client on a report that will never ever be used. You should have the box on the Primary Contact screen to suppress IDs when creating new clients OR a box when running due date reports to run to mark x to not see/use the…

  18. improve performance of conditional formating

conditional formating is a great feature but slow when data is not small and forms flicker. Can you please improve that?
By the way: Shadows of Buttons flicker too.

  19. Provide a method for printing selected items from the Help Panel.

Perhaps this capability exists in MS Access 2016 but I am not aware of it. Thank you.
