    And make the file size smaller. Typically if you create a PDF using Bullzip it is about 70% small than if created from Access directly.

    I suggest you have a look at EverythingAccess.com's vbWatchdog.

    In fact I suggest Microsoft buy out EverythingAccess.com and incorporate vbWatchdog into Office VBA!

    A .accdr file is nothing different from any other file apart from one letter in the file suffix. To create a .accdr file you take a .accdb file and change the "b" to an "r". It doesn't help with security at all.

    Have you tried opening the table from the Navigation Pane and leaving it open while you do your design work. That may help.

    Have you tried leaving the query open when you are in Design mode. Sometimes that helps.

    The order that posts get displayed here is a bit unfortunate. It looks at first sight as if Crystal, Bonnie Hicks and Nick67 are disagreeing with Mark Burns, but Mark posted *after* their posts. Mark's summary is a very good one.
