If you need to grant access to a secured back-end you can easily do so, already, through simple automation (add it to a command button and voila!).

Even if such a command line switch existed, I'd NEVER use it.

I'm not saying leaving a back-end unsecure is good, and all mine are secured, but I would consider it just as irresponsible to go to the point of securing a back-end file and then leaving the password accessible directly in a shortcut that opens it. I also wonder if this wouldn't leave a developer liable for any hacking or damages. It's like leaving your house keys under the doormat at the front door (your insurance company won't cover you in the event of robbery).

    @Stewart
In that case, you can already do so using an mde/accde to launch the db using automation.

I think this would pose a serious security risk.

It would also be useful to be able to copy a group from one category to another.

You can already do this using a continuous subform back to the table storing your paths.

If you're going to ask to improve the MsgBox, then like ask for what has been developed because of the limitations currently in place.

Allow HTML message (bold, italic, ...)
    Control button labels
    Custom icons
    Etc...

If you're going to invest time fixing it, let's make thing right!

    Like for the suggestion: https://access.uservoice.com/forums/319956-access-desktop/suggestions/10933014-please-please-hurry-and-release-the-2016-runtime

I don't know why this hasn't marked off as completed, which shows how much these are being monitored, but the runtime has been available for quite some time. See: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=50040

Could you give a real-life scenario when you need more than 255 fields? I find this very odd and would love to understand the request.

What would anyone want to display 10K+ records in a listbox? Do you realize the wasted bandwidth you would be using! You have to develop a little smarter than blindly pulling everything available to you. You set some parameters/criteria so the user filters and only returns what they need.

Don't get me wrong, the general request isn't bad, but asking to support 10K+ records is ludicrous!

+1 to the "In what universe?" are they superior?! They take up much more space, have no official tool to develop them, ... menus were easier to work with and didn't hog half the space. An improvement is supposed to simplify things, the ribbon never has.

When executing certain slow functions, queries, loading slow forms ... it would be nice to display a Loading gif for instance. And yes there are workaround, but they don't always work and the gif do not activate until the process actually runs first making them completely useless.

I've also been asked to incorporate such things in switchboard, and forms.

Considering Flash is being retired, this wouldn't make much sense. Animated Gifs though would be useful.
